Activity Level 2: Moderate Location: Station Square, Pittsburgh Guides: Nancy-lead, Lindsay- assist No holiday season is complete without a tour of lights! Experience the City of Pittsburgh's holiday decorations up close and personal and from afar on this urban hike. Our 5.5 mile urban hike starts near Station Square and takes us up PJ McArdle Roadway on the face of Mount Washington. The climb is over 400 feet, but slow and steady over one mile. To our right we’ll see beautiful city views, we’ll pass under the Monongahela Incline, and to our left we’ll see the face of Mount Washington. We’ll enjoy all the views from Mount Washington and preview where we’ll travel on flat city streets. We’ll enjoy the ride and view coming down the incline. We’ll cross the Fort Pitt bridge and begin our city tour to include: PPG Plaza, Market Square, Highmark Tree, Point State Park, Crèche at Steel Plaza, William Penn Hotel in Gingerbread, Allegheny County Courthouse Tree and more! It’s a fast-paced 5.5 mile hike to burn some cookie calories. Event details, including meeting location, suggested gear, and other pertinent info, will be sent via email to registered participants.
