Activity Level 1: Easy Location: Beaver Creek State Park, East Liverpool, OH Guide: Abby Throughout the summer, the Women's Adventure Club is hosting a "Face Your Fears" series - a chance to get outside, try new things, and tackle our fears. Each event is designed to be fun, supportive, and offer the opportunity to challenge our comfort zones. For this event, we're taking on ophidiophobia — the fear of snakes! 🐍 We'll meet at the Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center, a volunteer-run educational space in Beaver Creek State Park, to explore their extensive displays on animals, geology, Native American artifacts, and much more! They also have live animals on display for educational purposes, including box turtles, honeybees, and... FIVE native snakes. 🐍 We'll have time to visit with and learn about the snakes, and then — gulp — face our fears and even hold (and hug!) them. Once we wrap up our time at the Wildlife Education Center, we'll take a gentle hike on a nearby nature trail to close out our evening. Along the way, we can talk about our new snake besties and share what we learned from our educational journey. The trail is just under one mile with about 100 feet of elevation gain. 💌 Registered participants will receive an email with meeting location, suggested gear, and other pertinent info before the event.
