About the Adventure
Activity Level 3: Vigorous (distance) Location: Seven Springs, Champion, PA Guide: Lindsay Join us for the second in our "Fall on the LHHT" series of three autumn hikes along the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail. Today's hike covers about 8 miles from mile 18.8 to mile 27 on the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail. After crossing Route 653, we'll pass an old cemetery from Pennsylvania's early settlers. Between miles 19 and 20, the trail features unique rock outcroppings. At mile 21.3, there's a stunning overlook with views of the Laurel Run watershed, and on clear days, you might spot the U.S. Steel Tower! The trail follows the ridgeline, and by mile 22.8, you'll encounter a series of large rock formations. At mile 23, the trail enters a serene Beech grove, and further along, we pass through Mountain Laurel before descending to a tributary of Blue Hole Creek, a potential rest stop. The hike finishes at Tahoe Lake at Seven Springs, reaching the highest point on the LHHT. Total distance: 8.7 miles Total elevation gain: approximately 950 feet Details regarding meeting location, recommended gear, and other important information will be emailed to registered participants.
