About the Adventure

Activity Level 2: Moderate Location: Marshall Lake, North Park Guides: L.L. Bean Instructors Discover how easy it is to balance on top of the water. This paddle boarding starter course is an excellent opportunity to learn the basic strokes and skills you'll need for maneuvering a paddle board, allowing you to explore scenic lakes, coves and inlets. Our course begins with a brief introduction and safety talk from our friendly paddling instructors, who will share their accumulated wisdom from years of paddle boarding. They'll outfit us with a personal flotation device (PFD), paddle board, and paddling equipment, giving you insight on the best ways to set up your board. You'll receive instruction on a variety of paddling strokes and have the opportunity to practice each stroke by the shore. After you feel comfortable on the water, you'll set out in a guided, interpretive tour with your group. You'll experience the freedom of skimming across the water, learning about the ecosystem and history of the area. Group size limited to 9. All necessary paddleboarding equipment is provided. Payment is due upon booking. No refunds for cancellations made after the booking. If you need to cancel and can find someone to fill your spot, we can transfer the reservation. L.L.Bean does not usually cancel events due to inclement weather. However, they reserve the right to cancel an event at any time due to severe weather. If L.L.Bean cancels our event, you will receive a full refund.
