About the Adventure

Location: Moraine State Park, Portersville Activity Level 3: Vigorous Guide: Lindsay The North Country National Scenic Trail is the longest in the National Trails System, stretching 4,700 miles across eight states from North Dakota to Vermont. We're fortunate to have access to this amazing trail in various locations in Western PA. This is a 7 mile figure eight hike on a section of the NCT that goes through Moraine State Park. Hikers should expect some climbs and descents as we move through the wooded trails. At the culmination of the hike, we'll take time by the water's edge, gazing out at the lake and the sky during sunset. This will be our sit spot. A sit spot is a favorite place in nature that we visit to connect with our senses and tap into our awareness. It’s a simple, powerful experience that gives us permission to simply sit, observe, and be present. Total distance for the hike is 7 miles. Elevation gain is approximately 1260 feet.
