About the Adventure

Activity Level 1 or 2: Easy to Moderate depending on chosen distance Location: Powerermill Nature Reserve, Rector PA Guides: Meisha-lead, Lindsay-assist Tucked into the Laurel Highlands is Powdermill Nature Reserve, owned by the Carnegie Museum of Natural History! This facility and their 2,000 acres of nature trails are used for environmental research and are open to the public. There will be two options for this adventure. A 2-mile will take us alongside Powdermill Run, crisscrossing the creek, then winding back to the Nature Center. You are welcome to bail out here and explore the Nature Center, or continue along with us to complete another 3 miles. The 2-mile hike elevation gained is 175 feet. The 5-mile hike elevation gained is 700 feet. Event details, including meeting location, suggested gear, and other pertinent info, will be sent via email to registered participants.

Cancellation Policy

To cancel your registration for an adventure, please make your cancellation at least 48 hours in advance of the outing. To cancel, please send a brief email to Cancellations with insufficient notice, no-shows, and late arrivals who have missed the group’s departure are not eligible for a refund. We don't offer credit for future events. Refunds are issued in the form of original payment. If we cancel due to weather, you will receive a full refund. For cancellations involving an outfitter (SUP, rafting, kayaking, etc.) we follow the outfitter's cancellations policy.
