About the Adventure
Activity Level 2: Moderate Location: Marshall Lake, North Park Guides: L.L. Bean Instructors + Lindsay Dive into the world of Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) and discover the exhilarating blend of balance, serenity, and adventure on the water. Our Introduction to SUP class is a private class just for our Women's Adventure Club community. This paddle boarding starter class is an excellent opportunity to learn the basic strokes and skills you'll need for maneuvering a paddle board, allowing you to explore our local scenic lakes and waterways. Our course begins with a brief introduction and safety talk from our friendly L.L. Bean paddling instructors. They'll outfit us with a personal flotation device (PFD), a paddle board, and paddling equipment, giving us insight on the best ways to set up our board. We'll receive instruction on a variety of paddling strokes and have the opportunity to practice each stroke by the shore. After we feel comfortable on the water, we'll set out on a guided tour of Lake Marshall. Our experienced instructors will guide us through the fundamentals, from getting familiar with the board to finding our center of gravity. We'll learn how to paddle efficiently, gracefully maneuver, and maintain our balance with ease. Not only will you gain a newfound confidence on the board, but you'll also witness the incredible benefits of SUP for both the body and mind. Strengthen your core muscles, improve your balance, and engage in a full-body workout without even realizing it. The serene surroundings will melt away stress and allow you to find a sense of inner peace, as the rhythmic strokes of your paddle become a form of meditation. Get ready to paddle, connect, and create lasting memories that will keep you coming back for more! Group size limited to 10. All necessary paddleboarding equipment is provided. Payment is due upon booking. No refunds for cancellations made after the booking. If you need to cancel and can find someone to fill your spot, we can transfer the reservation. L.L.Bean does not usually cancel events due to inclement weather. However, they reserve the right to cancel an event at any time due to severe weather. If L.L.Bean cancels our event, you will receive a full refund.
