About the Adventure
Activity Level 2: Moderate Location: Slippery Rock Guides: Lindsay with Andy, a naturalist with the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy Join us for a springtime adventure as we head to Slippery Rock to explore the Wolf Creek Narrows Natural Area, a stunning Western Pennsylvania Conservancy property renowned for its vibrant display of spring ephemerals. A WPC naturalist will guide us through this rich landscape, identifying wildflowers and highlighting the area’s unique natural features. As we walk along the high-quality Wolf Creek, we’ll take in its lush floodplain, vernal pools, mature forests, and scenic old fields—making this one of WPC’s most beloved preserves. After our guided walk with Andy, you're invited to extend the experience with an additional 1.5-mile wildflower walk led by Lindsay through the adjacent Miller Woods. This Slippery Rock University property is famed for its breathtaking abundance of Virginia bluebells, offering a truly magical end to our outing. Total distance: 2.7 miles Total elevation gain: approximately 180 feet Details regarding meeting location, recommended gear, and other pertinent information will be emailed to registered participants.
