About the Adventure

Activity Level 2: Moderate Location: Murrysville, PA Guide: Abby Duff Park is a wild plant sanctuary and a designated old growth forest right in Murrysville. This park brings some of the best of western Pennsylvania hiking and it is right in our backyards! The trail we'll take on this adventure follows right along Turtle Creek (and doubles as a bike path) before heading up, up onto a series of switchback trails. There might not be many exciting plants to see in the winter along this trail, but as we venture along, you'll notice the names of the trails: Trillium, Red Oak, Fernwood, and know that when we visit again in the spring or summer, the landscape will be much different! This park truly has a trail for everyone from the wide and calm bike path to the series of hillside elevation gains. And in early December, who knows what the weather will bring us! Let's find out together at Duff Park!
