About the Adventure

Activity Level 3: Vigorous Location: Darlington, PA Guide: Abby The North Country Trail stretches about 4,800 miles from North Dakota all the way to the Appalachian Trail in Vermont, including hundreds of miles right here through Pennsylvania. For this hike, we're picking up right where we left off, just after Indian Rock. We'll take a short walk in from the parking area to reconnect with the trail, and then instead of turning left to wind back up toward Indian Rock, we'll head right - to Ohio and beyond! (By beyond, I mean across a road, at which point we have to turn back. But still!) This is a beautiful, quiet section of the NCT, mostly bordering private lands and farms. Once we're on the trail, we'll head upstream along the North Fork of the Little Beaver Creek, passing through open meadows, wildflower patches, and even pine groves along the way. When we hit that Ohio state line marker, we'll turn back the way we came.
