About the Adventure

Activity Level: 3 - Vigorous Location: Laurel Summit – Alpha Pass parking lot Guide: Joe – lead, Megan – assist This guided hike will explore various trails that take us to a stunning view of a distant ridge and through swaths of mountain laurel and rhododendrons. Along the way, we’ll hike part of the iconic Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail. Lumbering has long been an important industry for the region, and we’ll see how that has provided some of the trails that we now use. There will be several locations where we will stop to take note of the environment or to learn more about the area. The hike is 5.5 – 7.5 miles in length with several mild ascents and descents on well-established trails. The overall hiking pace will range from 2.0 - 2.5 mph.
