Activity Level 1: Easy Location: Fairlamb Lavender Farm, Sandy Lake, PA Guides: Judy, Fairlamb Lavender Farm Owner + WAC Guide Abby to join the fun Every time this event pops into my mind, I feel instantly relaxed just thinking about it! Visiting fields of lavender and learning how it's grown feels like the ideal way to kick off a holiday weekend, and honestly, the perfect excuse for a Friday off. 😊 For this event, we'll be visiting Fairlamb Lavender Farm to learn about the ten varieties of English and French lavender they grow there. In addition to being a beautiful and incredibly fragrant plant, lavender is also a wonderful pollinator for our good friend — the bee! 🐝 Judy will lead us on a tour of the farm and answer all of our questions about the plants and the farm's story. We'll also get to enjoy a little lavender lemonade and fresh cookies — because of course we will! While we're there, we'll have the chance to wander through the fields of lavender and wildflowers and cut some stems to bring home with us. A small note: this is a working farm with visitors throughout the summer, so there's no guarantee of exactly what will be in bloom during our visit, but I have a feeling we'll find at least a sprig or two to hold, smell, and keep us calm on the drive home! 🌿 💌 Registered participants will receive an email with exact meeting location, suggested gear, and other pertinent info before the event.
