Activity Level 1: Easy Location: Twin Lakes Park, Latrobe, PA Guide: Abby Each month The Women's Adventure Club offers a gentle, relaxed hike. We keep these hikes under three miles with minimal elevation gain and a slower, more relaxed pace. These hikes are for women who are interested in spending time in nature without covering a lot of ground. Maybe you're new to hiking, recovering from a small injury, or wanting to take it easy. This monthly hiking series is for you! Twin Lakes is a Westmoreland County Park that encompasses two lakes (known as the Upper Lake and the Lower Lake). In addition to a some hiking trails and nature trails, this is a popular destination for fishing, boating activities, and more! For this hike, we start on the Tamarack Nature Trail to head around the far side of the Upper Lake. Then we'll roam through the woods on the Horse Trail, which lines up a bit with an old gas well road, and then we'll make it out to the open at the Lower Lake. There, we'll follow the brick path around the lake to see what water creatures on along the shores this time of year. There are scenic areas for photos with a footbridge, a boardwalk we'll traverse, and a waterfall before we return to our parking area.
