Activity Level 2: Moderate Location: Walker Park, Sewickley Guide: Abby Skip the shopping and the crowds this Black Friday and join us outside instead! In the spirit of REI’s #OptOutside movement, we’ll trade consumer chaos for fresh air, quiet woods, and good company on the trails of Walker Park. Let's crisscross the Little Sewickley Creek a few times to hike through Walker Park via the High Maintenance Trail. At just about 4.2 miles, this trail starts out flat, winds around the Woodland Swim Club, and then gradually continues uphill for a steady climb, putting us at about 620 feet of elevation gain. We'll make a loop and then travel back down hill to our creek crossings. Along the way, we’ll listen for birdsong, watch for deer and other wildlife, and enjoy the calm that comes with moving through the forest together. Come walk off Thanksgiving, breathe deeply, and reconnect with nature. No lines, no screens, just shared time on the trail.
