About the Adventure

Activity Level 1: Easy Location: Kittanning, PA Guide: Meisha - lead, Lindsay - assist This pretty little out-and-back hike follows the rocky Cowanshannock Creek, also known as Buttermilk Falls. This is a popular summer hike with swimming holes and rope swings! Although we will not be swimming, we will enjoy a relaxing walk with very few hills. There will be an option to add some mileage on the Armstrong trail if desired. Total hiking distance is 2.5 miles and elevation gained is 100 feet. For those who would like a longer hike, we will walk along the Allegheny River on the Armstrong trail (a rail-trail path) for an additional 1.5 miles.
