About the Adventure

Activity Level 1: Easy Location: Boyce-Mayview Park, Upper St. Clair Guide: Abby Boyce Mayview Park is a 240-acre park in Upper St. Clair that has all the park features one could want: playgrounds, baseball fields, concession stands (mmm, popcorn), a batting cage, and more. Woven throughout those 240 acres, though, are miles of trails traversing wildflower fields, wetlands, streams, and gardens. In short, it's a lovely place to wander! For this relaxed hike, we'll cover about 2.4 miles and 289 feet of elevation through a variety of trees, meadows, and even along Chartiers Creek. This trail has a lot of classic western Pennsylvania scenery, just on a beautiful small scale, perfect for a relaxed trek! There are unique rock outcroppings, giant trees, boardwalks, and even a scenic vista or two. Throughout the hike, Abby will stop at a few key points to share some autumn poetry highlighting the beauty of change and possibility in the season. We'll take time to reflect on the words (quietly or aloud, whichever feels right) as we walk the trail.
